As a DSP, you'll provide compassionate support, helping individuals with IDD achieve greater independence, build relationships, and actively participate in their communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Support in developing and achieving personal goals, fostering independence and self-confidence.
- Engage individuals served in community activities, outings, and social events.
- Monitor and document progress, behaviors, and health status.
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is a plus, but not required—training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
