Position Summary:
As a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a key role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing personalized support in daily living activities. As a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a key role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing personalized support in daily living activities. You’ll assist individuals with their personal goals, support their participation in community activities, and encourage independence and self-advocacy. This role is integral to creating a positive and inclusive environment that respects the rights and dignity of all individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily living skills, personal care, and household tasks.
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals and encourage their participation in community events and activities.
- Administer medications according to training and maintain accurate health and behavioral records.
- Foster a safe, clean, and respectful environment in the home or community settings.
- Communicate effectively with team members, families, and external providers to ensure high-quality, person-centered support.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in caregiving, social work, or a related field is preferred but not required; training is provided.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to advocating for individuals with disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and eligibility to become a company driver.
- Ability to pass a background check
- Capable of performing physical tasks required for the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- This is a part-time position with shifts that may include evenings and/or weekends. CAS strives to create schedules that meet both the needs of our staff and the individuals we support.
