What You’ll Do as a Direct Support Professional
- Create meaningful, person-centered relationships with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Support people in daily living skills, recreation, community involvement, and personal growth.
- Assist with personal care, household tasks, and skill-building activities such as cooking, budgeting, and socializing.
- Follow support plans and behavior strategies (training provided!).
- Safely administer medications and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure the home is clean, safe, and supportive.
- Previous experience as a DSP, caregiver, or in human services is a plus — but not required!
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to become an approved company driver.
- Able to pass a national background check.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping others.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and assisting with mobility as needed.
- Competitive pay: $21.5–$22.5/hour, depending on experience
